This follows from Newton’s third law. But because the Earth is so heavy (inertial mass) this does not matter much. But for the ball it does 😉 So that’s why the ball falls to the Earth and not the other way around, even though the size of the force on both objects is equally big.

It seems to me that the precession due to the earth’s rotation would take much longer to manifest and would be a more complex observation.

Honorable Mention to Sir Isaac Newton and Sir Charles Darwin.

Tired light says something very different. Tired light claims that photons spontaneously lose energy over time, in direct violation of conservation of energy.

Fri, 08 Feb 2019 12:16:26 +0000https://briankoberlein.com/?p=5392#comment-6405I find the reasoning flawed when BK writes that “tired light violate conservation of energy.” In that case any body, that loses energy during its path violates the conservation of energy. Anti parallel laser beams attracts each other, because energy/mass has gravitational field, which was shown 1915 by A. Einstein in his general theory of relativity. During a solar eclipse 1917 his predictions were shown to be correct. Measurements on systems with two neutron stars shows an energy loss exactly as Einstein predicted. Consequently a photon also loses energy when it travels in a gravitational field.

It was the logic of Plato, Augustine of Hippo, Thomas Aquinas among others that kept Europe in the Dark Ages for over 1000 years and held back science for a similar period.

Sun, 03 Feb 2019 23:06:17 +0000https://briankoberlein.com/?p=5079#comment-6403Excuse me but what exactly is the medium upon which electromagnetic energy and photons travel ? These questions can still not be sufficiently answered and until the true nature of the time-space fabric is really known (because if it was ‘nothing’ then there would be no way for particles or waves to move). Until it is solved eerything else is purely philosopical speculation. Even what gravity is is not really understood so to say an ‘aether’ isn’t there is about as valid as saying ‘gravity is there’ even though we know how it affects things etc. but not really what it is made of or how it causes attraction between masses.
