If the image was a consistent, extreme telephoto, view all the figures (having the same real physical size) would have the same size on the poster. The background figures are clearly much smaller, so it’s definitely not pretending to be a ‘real’ photograph. It’s been shooped! ;-D

And, of course, that’s to make it a symbolic image – the ominous power of the evil Empire looms over the lotus-eating, freedom loving beachcombers of the idyllic tropical shores…
