(E subscript K max of the emitted photo-electrons if no heating of the metal is caused by the incident photons……..

the equation ….. incident/incoming photon energy = work function of metal + maximum Kinetic energy of photo-electrons ……………… .is credited to Einstein!

How he related Plack’s work to the photolectric effect? Should another physicist had made that connection would they have won the Nobel prize? Or was only an Einstein able to mathematically prove this link?

Others had danced around the idea, looking at discrete packets of energy, but Einstein pushed for photons as a property of light.

What part of the paper is considered as Einstein’s breakthrough? Were the calculations in the paper (of entropy and other parameters) novel? Did it make new predictions that would prove this hypothesis? Or is it making the connection between several mysteries of light, suggesting that all of them can be solved using the same idea?
